Holden Ryker Sokalsky
June 23, 2019–March 2, 2022
Holden was born on June 23, 2019 with his sisters, Lani and Harper…triplets! He entered the world with a presence and lived his life the same way. When Holden was in a room, you could feel his light, happiness, and joy radiating throughout. He loved to help, make others laugh, and play games. If we started cleaning or vacuuming the house, Holden was right at your side with his trusty spray bottle and toy vacuum. Every night he brought his sisters their milk cups before he got his own. I don’t know how many times we played chase, hide-and-seek, and laughed at his silly antics and reactions. Holden was easy-going, which was a good thing when it came to playing with his sisters! He loved realistic toys, figuring out how things worked, and Blippi.
Holden was the classic little boy. He would do anything to be outside, no matter the weather. When we moved into our new home, we quickly put up a fence so he could play outside safely. He would race to change into his bathing suit if he saw we set up the water toys. Holden loved his trucks, dinosaurs, and anything messy! Oh man, animals…he loved animals! This past Halloween, he welcomed himself into many houses if he saw a dog inside! Inside was my sweet, cuddly boy. The way he would nuzzle into your neck as we sang You Are My Sunshine each night is something I will never forget. Squeezing his small, little body tucked inside his most-valued excavator pajamas are the memories we live for.
One of his favorite places was his preschool. We could never tell Holden when it was a preschool day because he would stand at the door waiting, forgetting all about his breakfast or getting dressed! When he knew it was time to go, he would line up everyone’s shoes and hand out the jackets. We are so happy that Holden was able to spend the morning of his last day at his favorite place.
On March 2, 2022, Holden passed away suddenly at home in the comfort of his mom and dad’s arms. Within seconds, our world was shattered and our hearts broke into pieces. Our sweet, precious boy was gone. But when a light is as bright as Holden’s, it can never be extinguished. We will carry on Holden’s Light. I just love you so.
