The Mission of Holden’s Light
The mission of Holden’s Light is to improve the lives of young children. One of Holden’s favorite places was his preschool and what better way to spread his light than to allow other children to feel the love and joy that preschool can bring. By funding the early childhood education of toddlers and preschool-aged children, we are not only remembering Holden, but improving the lives of children by helping to establish a strong social and intellectual foundation, which is critical to their future success.
While each loss is devastating and hard, losing a young child is a unique loss. You were able to see glimpses of who this person was to become and now you are left to wonder who they would be. Upon leaving the hospital, the care team provided us with resources and activities for support. However, we noticed that most of these resources were aimed towards parents and families who may have lost an infant or an older child. Holden’s Light aims to provide specific grief support to families who lose a young child.
Most importantly, we aim to remember Holden. We strive to keep his name alive, his energy felt, and his impact known. This will be accomplished through supporting the community in honor of Holden. We are a team across realms and I will help him carry out his legacy on Earth.
In short, we will:
Remember Holden.
We will honor Holden through community initiatives, donations, and resources…all provided in memory Holden.
